Templater adds 2 id’s to each object in my JSON file when it renders. one “id” and one “ID”, both with a null value.

I don’t know what this means.

    SOLVED, kind of haha.

I’ve been using the double curly brackets in the JSON file to trigger the layer’s visibility. “layer_name”: “{{off}}”,
    So far so good.

Still trying to link text color to the JSON file.

@Jon yeah Templater and AE are using the same json file. I’ve been dealing with a lot of “not a valid json” errors. This whole live data animation project has been very frustrating. Thanks so much for all your help!

I just started reading about parseInt(). Not being a developer, it all goes over my head pretty quickly haha. But it’s slowly starting to click.

Here’s what my json file looks like.

Here’s the warning I get to all of my layers that’s linked to the json file:

What’s the best way to link text color and layer opacity to a json file? I’ve been using the plug-in mamoworld.json, it’s nice, but when I set it up for Templater, the link breaks. I get this error… Error: TypeError: Cannot read property ‘1’ of null.

Not really sure how to fix the problem or if there’s just a better way to do this.

Thanks for your help! I’ll check out that post for sure.

I made a quick flow chart to help me understand the process a little more. Does any of this make sense?

TLDR: Can Templater compile different comps into one video?

I’ll try to explain this the best I can.
I’ve been working on a data driven project for work. The idea is that a user will select up to 5 or so indexes or topics they want to see.

Example: Think of this like you want a video to show you temperatures in North America for Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York . And for Rome and Paris in Europe. Each continent (index) has its own unique “design” that can’t be used for any other index type.

Is there a way for Templater to collect the data assigned to different compositions, render them, and stitch or compile those comps into one video? Instead of Templater rendering a video out for each continent/city separately, you could have one video where you see the weather for what the user selected like: North America and Europe. Or one that shows Europe and South America and Asia. Etc, etc.

Thank you all for your help!

@Jon Yeah I looked over your sheet example. It was really helpful, thanks! I think for our purposes, JSON will be good, I’ll be working with some data people who know that file type pretty well. It’s me that doesn’t haha.

I have another question, but I’ll make write it up in a new topic. Thanks again for all your help on here!

Could this be done using a JSON file type instead of a spreadsheet? I’m running into this same issue and can’t figure it out haha.
