Target does not work when replicating (after effects error)

We are encountering a frustrating/weird issue where the target comp setup will NOT work when using replicate. It replicates the first target comp, and when it goes to the next row that points to a different comp it returns an error “AE error: internal verification failure {child not found in parent}”. It DOES works however if we just use the render function.

I am attaching a screenshot of the column of data in the google sheet we are using.

To troubleshoot we tested the target function in a super simple project (3 text layers, and 3 different comps to target) and the target column worked there for replicate, so there is something in the real project we are trying to apply it to that is preventing replicate to work. Any ideas on what is causing the issue?

@fg27 apologies for the long delay in responding. I’ve never seen that error in connection with Templater. Which version of AE and Templater are you using? What about any other 3rd party effects applied to layers? Are you replicating internally to the project to make new folders/comps within the existing project file, or are you replicating to individual AEP files for Media Encoder to render? We’d need to see more of a sample of the data and the full templater.log file. You can submit a support ticket with any relevant attachments.
