Is time sculpting broke in 3.4.0?
-
Ever since updating to 3.4.0, time sculpting stopped working completely - at least the way it was before.
Tested in After Effects 23.6 and 24.3, with the same disappointing results. Tried downloading 3.3.3, but I can’t find the link to it anywhere, even in the announcements sub forum, because the file linked inside the release topic for 3.3.3, named Templater3.zip, points just to the latest release, 3.4.0.
But, luckily, I found, in an old backup, the 3.1.1 version; instaled it, didn’t even purge caches or anything and voila - time sculpting worked perfectly.
Is there a bug with 3.4;0 and time sculpting, or did the workflow changed deeply from 3.3.3 to 3.4.0?
Where can I download 3.3.3 until I can sort all these things out, when my time clears up?

@snowfall0988 We have heard reports of this and are looking into it. Can you please send us a message to support@dataclay.com with more information about your project so we can understand it better.
Thanks,

@snowfall0988 while we investigate, you can download 3.3.3 here.

@snowfall0988 We looked into this issue a bit. It turns out that in 3.4.0 Time Sculpting requires the designation of a target composition for it to work. Plus, Templater now no longer “sculpts” any other composition outside of the target comp. This means that the target and any pre-comp layers within that target get “sculpted”.
Can you please confirm that you have a target composition selected and let us know if the time sculpting works for that particular composition in your project?
Learn more about setting a target comp within your project in this support article. It’s best practice to wrap a composition’s name within double braces
{{ }}
to designate your project’s target.Looking forward to learning more about your setup!

@snowfall0988 We have identified the cause that might break Time Sculpted projects rigged with earlier versions of Templater 3.4.0. We are working to release a 3.4.1 release soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
