Error with Google authentication, fails after some time
-
Since yesterday we have had issues with Google Sheets on 2 of our Templater Bots, both running the latest version of Templater, one with Windows 10 and one with Windows 11 and latest update of AE. Seems like the Google Auth is dropped after a a while. I just checked the logs in detail. Around 30 minutes after start this appears in the logs: “[GOOGLE API ERROR]: 500 : Internal error encountered. => No further details provided by Google Sheets API v4.” Then after a while we see this: “401 : Request had invalid authentication credentials. Expected OAuth 2 access token, login cookie or other valid authentication credential. See https://developers.google.com/identity/sign-in/web/devconsole-project. => No further details provided by Google Sheets API v4.” If I try to sign in again to Google from the templater plugin it doesn’t work, but if I restart AE, templater automatically connects and all is fine (for the next period until it fails again). Both the sheets the 2 bots are reading from are rather large, so I also tried to empty/clean up the sheets, but that didn’t fix it. I also have 1 bot running on Que which works fine.

We’re currently investigating reports by some users that their connections to Google Sheets are being interrupted. This is our highest priority at the moment. Could you open a ticket with us at support@dataclay.com and send us a copy of the templater.log files for this project? We’d like to verify that this is the same issue that we’re seeing internally.
Thanks,
Jeff

@rkvalvaa We’re also going to be tracking this issue and sharing updates here: https://status.dataclay.com/incidents/3nywv4cs2b3q

Thank you, I looked at the status page and it is exactly the same I experience. Just wanted to mention that we are also using Zapier a lot, and in the last week or so we have been getting error messages there related to Google Sheet when used as a trigger. This is not related to you directly but might indicate this is something on Google’s end, this is the error message there: Trigger partner failure: There was an issue with this Google Sheets step timing out. Sometimes apps will have short periods of downtime for a variety of reasons (maintenance, lack of resources, etc) that can prevent us from receiving a response when we try to perform an action or request data. They are usually temporary, however, and can often be fixed by either replaying this task at a later time if it’s an action step, or waiting without having to do anything if it’s a trigger step, as we’ll fetch the data automatically later. If you’re having continued trouble, let us know.

@rkvalvaa That info is helpful. We have a hunch that there’s something going on with Google’s infrastructure, but there haven’t been any outages reported. The fact that you’ve been having Zap failures with Google Sheets triggers is very interesting.
