Hey, I have a comp with some charts and cards that are multiple times repeated on the screen. I was thinking to use Essential graphics to be able to reuse the same composition for the cards. Is it possible to link the data from the essential graphics panel to json Templater data? Does anybody tried this ? is it possible?

thanks in advance for any information.

@Tasnadi-Otto Yes, it’s possible to set up a Master Properties comp that acts as a parent to multiple other child comps. Templater can control layers in both the master and child comps. We don’t have a guide yet on how to do it, but we plan to do that eventually.

Really cool, I managed to make it happen.
I have only one issue with it. I can’t use anymore the Templater - Layout - Attachment to link two texts together as it does not refresh the distances anymore in every case (leaves the distances from the original comp).
Any ideas on how to make this work?

@Tasnadi-Otto Does the attachment work in the expected behavior in your main composition? Or, is the attachment broken when you use the Master Properties feature in AE?

Can you share the templater.log file with us? Also, check this article out — it may offer some tips to help troubleshoot the issue.

            Thanks,
            Arie
