Using Cloud-based MP3 and MP4 links as inputs
-
Following the directions laid out at 15:30 in this video I’ve attempted to include a link to a cloud-based MP3.
When I put the URL into the browser, it downloads as expected and plays as expected.
When I put the URL into the input Google Sheet and preview on the row, it appears to download a fragmented version of the MP3 into the [TEMPLATER DOWNLOADS] file, prepending the file name with 1n9b9r504_
As this audio file is fragmented, it does not get brought into my Comp. Does this feature work for MP3s and MP4s or only images?
Note that I have checked “Allow unique downloads for cloud-based assets” in the Templater preferences.

While Templater is able to use links to MP3 and MP4 files, the URL syntax requirements are very specific. Many web pages will use html to redirect requests to specific files, which can interfere with the ability to use remote assets in AE. Can you provide an example of the sort of URL you’re using? Appropriately formatted URL’s will generally end in with the filename of the file you’re looking to get, ie:
Let us take a look at the sort of URL you’re using, and we should be able to point you in the right direction. Thanks!
