Switching projects/autografs with bot in QUE?
-
Hi, testing with QUE, have been using Google Sheets until now, and one feature we are dependent on is to be able to switch between different aep files (project files/autografs). As described here: https://support.dataclay.com/templater/content/screencasts/advanced/switching_between_project_files_within_one_data_source.htm
How will this work with QUE?
I’ve now tested having 2 autografs in the same campaign, that didn’t seem to work, then I tested with 2 different campaigns, just got the status “queued” without any information in the log or message in the interface. I see in the Templater interface in AE that it seems to be connected to a specific campaign?Any guidance on how to achieve this? (or if it is possible). The reason for using bot, is that we for the most part wouldn’t like to use the QUE interface to manually set up and start video production

Hmmm, that’s a bit odd. Typically, the only thing you’d need to do to swap between projects in the QUE dashboard would be to set which Autograf you wanted the Job to load in the “Edit Job” window. This should then be reflected in the “Autograf” column in the campaign view.
If the status of the Job is being set to “queued”, then the data should have been passed over to Templater for processing. In that case, we’d want to check the log in Templater to see if something is holding up the switch to the other aep file. If you click on the “Show Log” button or open the templater.log file, do you see any errors present there? Are there any errors in After Effects once Templater picks up the data from QUE?
One last note. If you’d like to process data from more than one Campaign on a single Satellite. You’ll need to go to the “QUE Configuration” section in the Templater Preferences and check the box that reads “This Satellite processes Jobs in all Campaigns”. This will allow Templater to read any job assigned to the appropriate Satellite, regardless of which Campaign contains them.
Let us know what you can about how the system is configured, and we’ll see what we can do to get this issue resolved. If sharing .log data is necessary and you’d like to do that more directly, keep in mind that you can always email us at support@dataclay.com.
Thanks!

Thank you for the reply @Jeff
Think I found the issue, it seems to be related to target composition, I got an error in the status area telling me that I had to define a default target composition. Once I did that it worked.

Glad to hear it. If you have any other questions or run into any other issues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
